Brief, conversational overview

Well-written conversation about CSS text. Includes unsupported and infrequently used properties, browser support (or lack thereof) and examples for the oddball scenarios. Not an exhaustive resource, but at less than 50 pages who expected that? Conversational in tone yet subject matter is presented in a professional manner. Book is an excerpt from the fourth edition of CSS: The Definitive Guide. For advanced users or those needing a good introduction to CSS text.

CSS Text - Focused Reference

"CSS Text" book has 46 pages and took me 1 hour to read and mark up. This reminded me so much of reading the old nroff/troff books. I now know MUCH MUCH more about the text category of CSS. I enjoyed the book and recommend it. This is a reference manual of text-related CSS commands - not a tutorial (no exercises or projects). I was surprised that it had no index of the 20 different commands it covered.
