a unique glimpse at periods of interest

The book is written in such a way that I seem to breeze through many chapters without realizing how much time has passed. It is a unique glimpse at periods of interest in the late 19th century up to the WWII era, and the end of the Cold War era in the 80's and 90's. Its a great value, I really like Verso books. Well put together and comfortable to read. Very enjoyable!
